    After a career ending back injury, Ms. Strubeck was no longer able to play competitive, collegiate basketball. To stay involved on campus, she decided to try out to be the mascot. After three rounds of try outs, Ms. Strubeck was one of three students chosen to represent Wilkes University as the mascot, donning the Colonel costume at various sporting, community, and charity events through her junior and senior year. She completed Dave Raymond's (the original Philly Phanatic) Mascot Boot Camp at the University of Delaware and will go down in history as one of the three "original" Colonels at Wilkes University, as the brand new costume was unveiled during her junior year.
